I've been searching for the 'right' bag for some time now. I thought I had found it when I invested in a Redsnapper bag a couple of months ago, but in fairness as great a style as the Redsnapper is, it's just too big for what I want. Great for storing all your kit in if you're not taking it far, but for moving around it's just too big for my needs. I'd been looking at the Billingham bags for quite a while now, but kinda thought they were off the scale in terms of budget. Over a £100 quid for a bag is quite a steep stretch - sadly my photography is all on a bit of a budget being a lowly writer as I am.
I've been looking for quite a while even considering the knock off styles China and eBay have to offer, when up popped one on the photography forum I frequent quite a bit.
I decided to bite the bullet and go for it, and as you can see here it is in all its glory. I have had to compromise a little. The battery grip I was using on my 40d has had to go as I just can't facilitate that but hey, small price to pay!
It's a fantastic bag, build quality is just second to none, and I even like the fact it's not brand new, it's kind of got that very slightly worn look about it. Of course it's all things to all men, you don't get to put too much in it, but it's going to be perfect for my needs for the foreseeable.
And when I have more stuff I may just buy another one, a bigger one.
